KOREAN WINTER-WARMER SNACK

The Korean Cultural Centre Australia is excited to bring the Korean Food Workshop to you throughout the year. Through the workshops, you will be gaining the useful skills for cooking Korean cuisine with hands-on experience, and also get to know a lot of interesting stories and learn culture behind the food. Free event and eligible for anyone aged 18 years and over.

TIME & DATE: 17:30 – 19:00 (AEST), Thursday 7 July 2022

DURATION: 90mins (hands-on & tasting experience)

VENUE: Korean Cultural Centre Australia Kitchen + Hanok (Ground Floor, 255 Elizabeth St, Sydney)

WHAT TO LEARN: Hotteok (Pan-fried Sweet Pancake)

Hotteok is one of the most beloved winter street snacks in Korea. As it has become more popular, Hotteok vendors can be found on the streets throughout the all winter time. It is crispy on the outside and inside can be filled with many variety. It is a magical pancake that will make you feel warm and toasty. One bite of a Hotteok will make you forget the cold winter wind. Through the workshop, we will make the original version together, and also learn two other special versions.


HOW TO JOIN THE WORKSHOP?

It’s a small workshop with 8 people. If you would like to be one of the 4 winners to join workshop with your 1 guest, click one of the 3 options to apply. (Click: Facebook / Instagram / Google form). Lucky winners will be contacted on Monday, 27th June. If you are outside Sydney, don’t be disappointed as we will also contact some of you to give away already-made Hotteok!

* Please note that the participants are chosen with the purpose of sharing opportunities to experience Korean culture with broader audiences. Only successful applicants will be contacted. If your application was successful but if you won’t be able to attend any more, please notify us to food@koreanculture.org.au as soon as possible so that the person in waiting list can join. Failure to notify before 48 hours of the workshop might affect your next application result in the future.
